In the good ol’ days, not even the sight of tourists in unforgiving thongs or the attack from cancerous sun rays could spoil your mood when you were chillaxing on the amazing sands of Miami Beach. But then one day, your Shangri-La was destroyed when you found a cigarette butt in your sandcastle, plastic bags by your beach ball, and an empty tequila bottle floating beside you in the surf. Since bitching alone won’t solve the problem, Swank Entertainment is throwing a rockin’ party in support of the efforts of the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach.

Each Friday a $10 donation to ECOMB will get you into The Green Party and enter you in a raffle to win organic goodies such as handbags and skincare products, all while you’re helping preserve the most incredible landmark this side of the Everglades. And if helping out Mother Earth isn’t incentive enough, there’ll be two-for-one drinks from 5 to 8 p.m. and free vodka, gin, and rum cocktails from 7 to 8. Support a greener Miami from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Catalina Hotel. E-mail sobegreenparty@gmail.com for more information.
