ANR rocks the UEG, bringing the boogie to Biscayne.
Published on April 24, 2008 at 3:00am
Biscayne Boulevard has been through a lot lately. Thanks to endless construction, persistent police patrolling, and relentless gentrification, youre more likely to discover an adorable new boutique than a trap house, and even the seediest motels are being freshened up and de-hookerized. The Upper Eastside Garden is a landmark representation of the pretty new face of the boulevard. Now that the weather is gorgeous and the bulldozer dust has settled or at least moved a little farther north in its ceaseless quest for street-widening were all about celebrating our thoroughfares brightest gems. Meet us at the UEG at 7 p.m. for a session with beloved local band Awesome New Republic.
ANR is no stranger to the ins and outs of downtown the group has played just about every hipster club, outdoor festival, and gallery crawl from Wynwood to Langerado. At the garden, the band will kick out the jams with a sweet new rhythm section. Like its MySpace page proudly states, the group is postcrunk and hard as hell.
