Suck on This Show

You’ll learn to love Mondays, thanks to Circ X.

Once you walk through the doors of Dream Nightclub on a Monday night, the funk of mediocre entertainment will disappear from your skin, and your soul will become awash in an aroma you might not even recognize. Fantastic characters greet you by the door, and from then on, we can’t even predict what you’ll encounter. It’s officially called a cabaret and burlesque revue, and each week, a different set of guest artists aims to titillate you from 10 p.m. to around midnight. From the dancers positioned in the sky-high Plexiglas boxes, to drag performers, sexy burlesque, and magic acts — it’s the cure for the common showcase, also known as The Chat Noir Club.

The show is produced by innovative performance group Circ X, which, according to founder/artistic director Diana Lozano, “is two parts circus, one part burlesque, a pinch of class, and a dash of trash.” We love it already. Tickets cost 30 bucks, and postshow the party rolls on until the wee hours.
