I enjoyed your article about the lovelorn Pinecrest attorney who resorts to the courts for his lost loves. However, there is a darker side to this. I am personally familiar with both parties and the details of their relationship. I am personally so fearful of him and his antics that he has been listed on my daughter's "cannot leave with under any circumstances list" at Pinecrest Elementary School since the day she went there. In addition, he has engaged in acts that some would consider stalking. But for "Orieyenta's" fear of him, which is well founded, she herself would have sought an injunction against him.

As a lawyer, I am offended at this obvious abussive use of the court sytem by another lawyer simply because of his equally obvious vindictiveness. I have never seen a more clear case of abuse-of-process and malicious prosecution, and I would hope that "Oriyenta" countersues this fool.

I cannot believe this amazing story. Aside from the fool lawyer discussed in the article, a larger point is: How can a judge permit the case to be maintianed even to the point where this idiot procedurally even had the right to serve interrogatories? This lawyer ought to be disbarred and whatever judge appears to be actualy considering the matter voted out of office ASAP.

I am a lawyer. I am so offended by the actions of Stelzer that I emailed your article to the Florida Bar ethics committee. I'm not kidding. Who the hell is this idiot anyway? I've been a lawyer here for a long time and never heard of him and neither has anyone else who I have asked, after having read this. I suspect he's a rather incapable lawyer, and, hence we see this type of baseless, vindictive litigation from him that only helps to further reduce the image of lawyers in general.

Absolutely, there is indeed a darker side to this story! I am, in fact, the unfortunate ex-wife who had the first frivolous civil lawsuit filed against me by Stelzer during our divorce proceedings. It was filed solely to gain leverage to get what Stelzer wanted -- i.e., a divorce decree that granted him the primary custody of my son and no child support or alimony payments. These are terms I absolutely would not have agreed to had this coercive, frivolous lawsuit not been draining my available funds. I am still paying the price to this day. I have been back in court for almost a year now trying to modify the custody arrangement. I have spent in excess of $16,000 in this process. Needless to say, the baseless allegations of my alleged sexual exploits while married to Stelzer are just that -- absolutely baseless. Wow! This is getting intersting. Fun reading, to be sure. But, seriously, something needs to be done about lawyers like Stelzer. I'm glad one of the other "commenters" has complained to the bar. I would, too, if I had any faith at all in other lawyers' ability to police their own kind.

I am a close friend of Pamela's, the third ex-wife of Mr. Stelzer. While Orieyenta's story is very disturbing and eerily reminiscent to that of Pamela's, Orieyenta is fortunate that she never had a child with Mr. Stelzer, and, thus, never lost custody of her child as a result of a frivolous civil lawsuit filed against her. Pamela is a good person and a wonderful mother, who, despite very adverse circumstances, makes every attempt to play an active roll in her son's life. It would be in the best interest of their child if they could work out an amicable and reasonable resolution to their disputes.

It is obvious his attorney the judge that allowed this ridiculousness should account for allowing the misuse of attorney power and instilling fear into victims at some point the judge should have said enough.How does a judge allow obvious laws and crazy supeonas .FAVORS FAVORS FAVORS thats how attorney privledge and knowing how to work the system these poor women have been put in financial distress and backed into a corner sadly by our system that allows such crap.Who is caring for the 6 yr old while this nut is alone with him?

I have a different sort of concern than discussed so far in the comments. From the filings in court mentioned in the article that have apparently been made by Stelzer, it seems that Stelzer may be a bit of a sexual pervert. Thus, I ask, does he really have sole custody of a young boy? That doesn't sound very "kosher."

Intersting comments. My guess would also be that perhaps Stelzer is actually gay and never should have been married to a woman at all since he obviously has significant issues with regard to woman. Too bad he's so abusive, though, rather than just admittting his obvious issues and dealing with them properly.

I know both parties the first law suit was a three ring circus supeonas left and right people were scared into saying what he wanted he dug up things on people and hired a private investigator who even investigated things that were not his concern . Religion was brought up and used against his ex wife, she was accused of marrying for money meanwhile she paid 1/2 the groccery bill rent and 1/2 of every vacation they took,hell she paid her 1/2 when they went to dinner and when their son was born he charged her the deductible for the hospital so what interest did she have? Pamela always worked she was never maintained nor did he ever provid for her.What now he has to pay his own bills and do his own laundry. Poor victiom #3 is now being sued for leaving him again now he has to do his own stuff.This man is crazy and with a young child putting fear and throwing this weight around when is someone going to investigate fairly.

I am very distressed at this article. I am concerned about three things here: (1) the obviously abusive use of the court system by Stelzer; (2) that some judge permitted these cases to have a life-span of more than a brief moment; and, (3) that some other lawyer must have actually represented Stelzer in these bad faith, frivilous lawsuits -- of course, these are probably just Stelzer's lawyer-friends who had an equal disregard for the pain and hardship that they would be helping Stelzer to inflict upon these woman who had the misfortune of every meeting the guy. Another comment is from a woman who said that she forwarded this article to the ethics committee. Someone ought to get the files and make the same complaint with regard to whatever lawyers actually signed these complaints on behalf of Stelzer. It is very sad, but it took two, or even three, low-life lawyers to pull this crap off. This offends the general reputation of the bar very seriously.

I simply cannot believe that a woman -- apparently Pamela, if this is all for real -- was charged rent by Stelzer while they were married in order to live in the marital home. That sounds illegal. What's really sad is that this guy's abusive litigation apparently got her to the point where she just wanted to be rid of him so bad that she gave up all her rights -- even to her son! Heck, relatively speaking, Oriyenta has it easy. I am a person of significant resources and I am going to contact Pamela at that email address she put on her comment to see how I can help. I have many lawyers work for me. One has already questioned how long ago was Pamela's case, because she might still be able to sue Stelzer -- and whoever represented him -- for the abusive litigation.

As a business man, I am not surprised. Lawyers routinely use frivilous litigation for ulterior motives and/or for their own financial gain. They are, basically, opportunistic scum. I do certainly agree with the commentator above who makes the very good point that whatever fool represents or represented Stelzer is even more culpable than that extreme low-life himself. Each one of them are about as useful to society as the piece of dog shit that I just noticed on my lawn on the way in here tonight. If there is anything ethical about "the bar" at all, each one of them ought to be sued and disbarred.

What an article! This reporter needs to be honored for bringing this abusive situation to light. I am a lawyer and I know this guy, stelzer. But I feel compelled to comment following on the comment about his shitty house, you'all ought to see his office. It's like a comedy scene. It's a one story, old, cockroach-infested, dilapidated building, righ near the criminal court building, that hasn't been renovated since what appears to be about 1966, that says "Abogado" all over it. It really does look like a building that Stephen Speilberg might have created in a Hollywood studio if he were doing a movie that had as its main character a low-life, shitty lawyer.

As aJew, I am very saddened by this article. Of all things, given our history, Jews must always be cautious, and err on the side of respecting human dignity and have compassion for others. The callous vindictiveness of Stelzer shows that he neve got that lesson.

I am the current husband to Stelzer's THIRD ex-wife. We have been together for almost four years. I can tell you one couldn't ask for a better mother, wife or partner. I never believed in love at first site. Then I saw her for the first time and she smiled, I knew I found the one. I am a witness to this circus of injustice first hand! Stelzer has gone so far as to withhold visitation and refuses to reimburse daycare expenses. This is in their divorce settlement agreement, and is enforceable by the court system, however, in both situations the Judge has done nothing to hold Stelzer accountable. We are now back in court and have spent a lot of money to have a couple questions answered which concern parenting and it goes on and on.

Since we raised these parenting issues, Stelzer's best response was he told her to go to hell, called her a bitch, and said we can go to court... (as always, where he fights his battles against his ex's). I finally gave him my 2 cents, I guess that hurt his ego. Because that was followed by a phone call from his lawyer, who "OFF THE RECORD" (his words) blackmailed us by asking for a written apology to Stelzer or he would file a lawsuit against her! Naturally, we didn't give in. So Stelzer does, again, what any normal person would do, he files a "false police report" saying I hit their son and I was going to harm Stelzer!

As a husband, father, step-father and a MAN, I pride myself on taking care of my family. Let me ask this, if a child, say 5 1/2 years old, could take a shower on their own, then why would an adult insist on showering with them? If not out of need, would it be for personal gradification? If you can answer that, then I should have written you the check...

This is crazy poor Oreyenta . Sued for not being his maid and raising a child that does not belong to her, or was it because she gave him no gifts or wait the worst she did she left him how terrible to notbe a maid to him or a porn toy she claimed her dignity and her strenghth. Kudos to the reporter for bringing this abusive situation to light in both a factual and funny manner -- and starting the rant of interesting and entertaining commentary from Stelzer's good friends and happy neighbors. Stelzer's obviously quite a guy. Seriously, however, if any reader knows which lawyers represented Stelzer in these frivilous law suits, I'd like it to be posted on here in another commentary b/c I have a professional interest in this and will do something about it. I will not be able to be at the Miami courthouse for a while, though, due to my travel schedule, and, of course, the Miami-Dade circuit court is one of the few that is not yet on-line -- or I would get their names myself. In my judgment, the lawyers who signed these complaints on behalf of Stelzer seriously violated ethical requirements, even moreso than Stelzer who was, perhaps, a bit blinded by his direct emotional connection, but the same cannot be said with respect to the lawyers who represented him.

The reporter, did a masterful job of writing this in an entertaining way while exposing serious abuse by a member of the Florida Bar. I also read the commentary and checked Stelzer's Blog ("JewAttyDaddy") and that of "Oriyenta" ("RaggedyMom"), and there's much factual data contained in these that scream-out for someone to address the issue as to why Stelzer has primary custody of this 6 year old boy. I say this not just because he is obviously a mean-spirited, nut-case, but his own descriptions of himself, on his and Oriyent's blogs, and in his litigation filings, he presents a picture of his extreme ill-health and fraility. Stelzer's vindictiveness, of course, precludes him from being able to even consider the best interests of the child, but surely a court must recognize that the mother, Pamela, now apparently happily remarried with a family, would be far more appropriate to have primary custody. This is a bizare but sad tale all around -- mostly for the young boy.

Hey, Fred, I liked your comment. I just checked. You can, in fact, get basic docket entries on-line, but can't get a copy of the document on-line, or even view it, as with most other clerk websites or with the federal ECF and PACER systems. The old case is, in fact, against a woman named Pamela (I guess the above commentator is for real). The docket entries show, not surprisingly, that after a bunch of discovery motions, the case was voluntarily dismissed by Stelzer. There is a link to click-on, next to the order of dismissal, and this brings up a window in which the order starts to open, but it is mostly redacted. However, the caption is there and there is a Fla. bar number. It is 503460. That's the probably the number of the lawyer who repreesented Stelzer in the case agianst Pamela. There is no similar link on the current frivilous case against "Oriyenta." I hope this helps. At least go get this one scum-bag lawyer that helped Stezler in his intimidation of the ex-wife, Pamela. I have really had with such lawyers giving the bar a bad name. I hope you have success.

Let me clarify a couple of things for those reading and leaving comments�

I want to say that I do actually exist and unfortunately my story is very �REAL�! I wish I could say it is all a hoax, but I assure you it isn�t. I am disgusted with how I was and am currently being taken advantage of. Stelzer knew exactly what he was doing when he filed my complaint. The problem was, #1 the Judge did not dismiss my case and #2 the Judge did not reprimand him for filing such a frivolous suit. So, he thinks it is ok to do it again to someone else. As a lawyer he knows how to work the system and obviously does.

Although it is a travesty that an attorney would actually sign their name to such complaints, I have to tell you that it was Stelzer who prepared all of his own documents. I know this because, both lawsuits are verbatim and Stelzer used two different lawyers to file these complaints. Yes, a name change was changed and a fact or two, but they definitely mimic each other. I don�t think the focus should be on the attorney�s who signed the complaints. There is always a low-life out there ready to do a dirty deed if paid the right amount of money. I agree, it is unfortunate that there are so many people with a low opinion of lawyers. So how can they be allowed to continue to practice the law?

Honestly, what is really the important issue here is my son. It is wrong that my son is not with me, his mother. I couldn�t love my child more. I am very scared for him and concerned about what Stelzer�s behavior is doing to him on a daily basis. In light of this complaint he has filed against his former girlfriend, I am extremely concerned about his capability he has to raise our son now since he does mention how frail he is and how much emotional stress he is under 28 times.

This article has, thankfully, raised -- in an entertaining manner -- some very, very serious issues, for which the reporter should be well-recognized. The issues invoked, however, are far larger than those raised by Pamela and her son, and Stelzer's weird and most recent harassment litigation filed against "Oriyenta." The Fla. Bar website has already been checked; it is very simple to make the appropriate connection (i.e., RJB). Thus, what appears to be a request from the "ex," Pamela, for confidentiality as to RJB will be honored -- at least by this commentator. However, whatever the Bar concludes should, ultimately, be done, will be done. Here's the larger problem: the reputation to lawyers in general. Some lawyers just don't take this seriously, but there are many people whose livlihood is based upon honest, hard, intellectual legal work. Stelzer and "his lawyers" have had no regard for that.

To the commentator "Jack": You are so right; that is THE point. Please do your thing (whatever that is) against Stelzer and "RJB." I'm a commercial lawyer and I work endlessly. Why do these kind of shit lawyers even have a license to practice? It is sad. Well, I sat down to do my Sunday morning political blogging, and came across this. The article first made me mad at the obvious abusive use of the system by a lawyer to coerce and intimidate these woman, but then I read the comments and I can see that there are quite a few lawyers out there equally offended by it who seem to want to try to something about it. Let's hope they have some success.

This is very intersting. I was put onto this article by the Jewish federation of NY website. I have been coming back to this site as the comments evolve. It is now obvious to me that we have a bunch of lawyers bashing each other. Consider the comments about RJB, for example: they are carefully written so as not to be actually slanderous. For example, calling someone "incompetent" is not defamatory when qualified by "in my judgment." The adjectives "fat" or "balding" are similarly legally inoccuous opinions. I notice these things because I am a reporter myself. I have to assume what is written about Marcus is simply true; they are very factual in nature. So, an article about a very bad and litigious lawyer has turned into essentially a "blog" where a bunch of lawyers in miami, who apparently know each other, are annonymously, but carefully, bashing each other. What a group!

The comments are somewhat entertaining however, I think everyone is loosing sight of the real issue at hand which is that Stelzer is using his power as a lawyer to manipulate the system and get what he wants. It is so obvious he hates women because of the extent he goes to in order to ruin them with his "legal actions". The fact that this man has been allowed to continue to influence the 6 year old son is very sad. Stelzer had every opportunity to comment to the reporter, and choose to decline. Therefore the story can only be one-sided.

Wow! I know these characters, too. What an abussive use of a lawyer's powers. I'm appalled. Yes, thanks to the New Times paper for the article, and their website that has permitted all of this to come into the bright light of public scruitiny.

The above comments come close in giving praise to the New Times website, but miss the mark a bit. What has happened here is a wonderful example of the wisdom of certain of the policies behind the federal statute that gives absolute immunity from suit to the owners of a webiste for what others say or post on the website. Thus, the New Times website can, in turn, guarantee its readers, who have something to say and want to post a comment about an article, absolute annonymity so they can honestly express themselves. Accordingly, without fear of reprisals from the kinds of lawyers here invovled -- which their obviously would otherwise be -- the full story can be flushed-out. Thus, here, the two lawyers who facilitated Stelzer have been brought out in the open. And that otherwsie would not have been the case (because of fear). There are many current attempts to curtain the federal statute because of certain abuses on websites such "Juicy Campus" and "Face Book." That would be a mistake and what has happened with this Stelzer story and the comments posted with regard to it is a very good example of why that would be a big mistake.

Since this is Comment #56, part of me hopes nobody out there is continuing to read this garbage, but in the event anyone is, I would like to say that I have known Robert Bryan both personally and professionally for more than eleven years. He is an accomplished attorney and well-respected member of the Miami legal community. I find it despicable that someone out there who has a personal vendetta against Robert would use this forum, an article about a litigious attorney who appears to repeatedly file frivolous lawsuits against the former women in his life, to attack Robert. I'm sure if there is a way to subpoena the Miami New Times and find out who the culprit is, "litigious" Mr. Stelzer will do so.

It's still a better alternative than a "senseless" killing rampage, even if it is ugly to those who cannot emote.
