In Case You Didnt Know
David Sedaris is coming to town!
Published on October 09, 2008 at 3:02am
The point of this calendar section is to promote and sell local cultural events, with the underlying idea that if it werent for New Times, no one in Miami would know what to do with themselves. When the event is a lecture in south Kendall about Sri Lankan pottery, this is no doubt the case, but when the event is David Sedaris, for the love of God, you all should already know about it.
You should already know he's the second-funniest person in America (after his sister Amy, of course). You should already know that this Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center, he's reading his hilarious essays about quitting cigarettes, speaking French, and becoming a Macy's elf. You should already know the tickets start at $35 and go up to $60 for the premium seats. You should already know this event is one night only and includes an audience Q&A session and a chance afterward to have your copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames signed by Sedaris himself. But by some off chance you've been in a coma at Jackson Memorial for the past four months, you can still purchase tickets through the Arsht box office by calling 305-949-6722 or visiting www.arshtcenter.org.
